Recipes I Tested for Thanksgiving 2013 (so far)

The past couple months, I’ve been trying a bunch of new recipes. I’ve been especially interested in testing ones that might be good to make for my family’s Thanksgiving get-together. Here are the ones I’ve tried so far!

Orange Autumn Curry

I made up this recipe. “Orange” because it’s made with pumpkin, carrots, and sweet potato.

Cajun Brown Rice
From Veggie Belly.

Southwest Mac & Cheez
Found this recipe in a book I think, but can’t remember which.

Potatoes Au Gratin
From Vegan Stoner book.

Creamy Spinach Artichoke White Bean Dip *a favorite*
From The Great Vegan Bean Book.

Spaghetti Squash with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
Sauce based on a recipe from Your Homebased Mom, minus the cheese and oil.

Kabocha Squash Lentil Curry
From Pinch of Yum.

Curry Butternut Squash Soup
From Daydream Kitchen.

Three Sisters Stew
From the book Vegan Holiday Kitchen.

Kale Hash Brown Casserole
From Fat Free Vegan Kitchen.

Smoky Apple Baked Beans
From Fat Free Vegan Kitchen.

Fireplace Chili Mac
Idea from Healthy Slow Cooking, but I didn’t use veggie cheese and instead made some kind of nutritional yeast cheez (can’t remember the details, sorry!)

Zuppa Toscana *a favorite, but maybe not for Thanksgiving*
Made this up based on a recipe from Tuscan Recipes.

BBQ Tofu
Super simple (doesn’t even need a recipe), but idea from Lunch Box Bunch.

Creamy Vegan Broccoli & Rice Casserole *a favorite, but needs tweaking*
From Fat Free Vegan Kitchen.

Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
Based on a recipe from Leslie Durso, but substituted a couple things.

Creamed Kale
From Quiche-a-Week.
