If you think eating vegan is tough, remember that surgery is a hell of a lot more extreme than eating plants!
…and if you think of it, eating animals is pretty extreme, too. When you eat meat you’ve paid someone else to kill another being for you. That animal is part of a mass murder, then once dead is chopped up, packaged, and sent to your grocery store. You pick up a body part wrapped in plastic from the grocery’s fridge, bring it home, chop it up some more, heat it to high temperatures to kill off all the bacteria, season it like crazy so it’ll actually have some flavor, and then put it in your mouth, chew, and swallow. That’s skin, muscle, flesh, and fat. A body part that not so long ago was attached to a walking, breathing, thinking animal living in some dirty, horrifying, and scary conditions. It’s a system that promotes everyday cruelty because consumers pay them to do so.
That’s pretty extreme.
