I want to take the time to introduce this woman: Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. She’s a vegan activist, cook, podcaster, speaker, and author. I started listening to her podcast a couple of years ago, Vegetarian Food For Thought. She is super easy to listen to and talks about benefits, issues, and topics around eating and living a vegan diet. I love how she encourages everyone to “speak your truth” and to live according to your values.
There’s no shame in feeling compassion toward animals! Colleen is smart and speaks on this topic (and more) quite eloquently. I would encourage anyone interested in a plant-based diet to subscribe to Colleen’s podcast, or check out one of her cookbooks. Also, here’s an excellent video of Colleen speaking: Debunking the Myths of Veganism.
When I discovered “Food for Thought,” I was vegetarian, and I listened to all the episodes more than once before ever committing 100% to veganism. But I was so glad that I had all that knowledge when I finally made the switch. She makes a lot of sense and is so compassionate about living a vegan lifestyle, and I’m thankful to have that influence instead of just an angry-animal-activist-vegan mindset. Colleen is an educated voice of reason. If you’re interested in veganism or feel like a weirdo wanting to be vegan in your town/community/social circle, Colleen will help you feel less crazy ;)
